A regenerative (active) load system replaces a conventional resistive/reactive load bank used to test equipment such as alternators, motors, transformers, battery chargers, DG sets and rectifiers.
Overview
A regenerative (active) load system replaces a conventional resistive/reactive load bank used to test equipment such as alternators, motors, transformers, battery chargers, DG sets and rectifiers. Instead of dissipating the full test power as heat in resistor or salt-water banks, ACE's IGBT-based system is grid-tied ('grid-locked') and feeds the test power back into the user's own 3-phase grid for reuse — so the source only has to supply the system's loss (efficiency-loss) power rather than the full load power. Buyers choose it to drastically cut the energy wasted during full-load testing, avoid the heat and footprint of dump-load banks, and obtain a controllable, dynamic electronic load with low injected current harmonics.
Specifications
